The Fudge Lab recently got back from a research expedition to the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador as part of an NSF-funded project on the biogenesis and evolution of hagfish slime and slime glands. Other members of the team include Charlie McCord and Tim Winegard from Chapman, David Plachetzki from the University of New Hampshire, Bo Fernholm from the Swedish Museum of Natural History, Michael Mincarone from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in Brazil, and John Gregg from the Western Flyer Foundation. We also worked closely with staff at the Charles Darwin Research Station and the Galapagos National Park in Puerto Ayora and.
