Logline
When a black, heavyset preteen boy explores his aberrant interests, he faces backlash from his traditionalist father.
Cast
Xavier (13): A heavyset Black boy caught between keeping the peace in his household and being able to express himself creatively; he processes his feelings within. He wears his headphones to escape from the reality of his life.
Angela (15): Supportive of Xavier’s interests and rebels against her father’s imposition but can only do so much. Playful and sarcastic, enjoys teasing her brother, but has been forced into a motherly role.
Jimmy (32): A stern man, desperate to cling to traditional values and control over his children. A shadow that looms over his household. He’s stubborn, close-minded, and selectively supportive.
