Cast
Sarah Beth: (16) A southern, Christian girl who is best friends with Riley. She is confident but having grown up in the church, her perception of self is skewed to focus a lot on her purity and striving to remain meek and pleasant to find a good Christian husband.
Riley: (15) A southern, Christian girl who is best friends with Sarah Beth. She is shy/mousy and has been hiding the fact that she is actually very insecure about how she compares to Sarah Beth. She also has grown up with the pressures that are put on girls in the church, the focus on purity and meekness.
Joshua: (17) He is best friends with Matthew. He is cocky/douchey but doesn’t have the looks or persona to back it up. Being a young man in the church, he is given a lot of liberties and instilled with a confidence that opposes the girls’. He also plays guitar in the church band, so he has “church clout” but ultimately, is still just a kind of nedy, Christian boy.
Matthew: (17) He is Joshua’s sidekick/best friend. He is a bit of a try hard, he attempts to emulate Joshua’s confidence but often fails. He, like Joshua, inherently has an heir of superiority because young men are so often praised and given more opportunities and liberties in the Church. He plays drums in the church band, so again, like Joshua, has “church clout” but ultimately, is still just a kind of nerdy, Christian boy.
