Logline: An overconfident karaoke-bar rapper proves his artistic integrity with an autobiographical documentary.
Page Count: 7
Genre: Mockumentary, Comedy
Cast Breakdown:
DEREK (32M) prefers the title “creative” to “failing karaoke-bar rapper.” He takes the utmost pride in his plethora of crafts and is determined to share his art with the world, no matter what it takes.
LINDA (55F) is a mother who enjoys performing theater ballads at the local karaoke bar. She is a kind and supportive woman, although a little out of touch with the modern music scene.
JULIANNE (60F) is Derek’s blindly supportive mother who has always known he was going to grow up to be a star. She is really excited about this documentary and is just as convinced as Derek that his big break is around the corner.
DAVE (64M) is a pharmaceutical salesman that also happens to be Derek’s father. He is not as excited about Derek’s failing career and doesn’t understand exactly what the documentary will do to help him.
LANA (36F) an eccentric model that only helped Derek because of his so-called “nuanced” vision. She is rather disappointed with the objectifying results.
SECRETARY (40) a great obstacle to Derek’s final goal. Sassy and rude and tired of nonsense.
