Golden Hour

Logline: In a house bathed in unchanging golden light, an elderly man clings to routine and memory as reality quietly unravels around him.

Page Count: 7

Genre: Surrealist psychological horror

Casting Breakdown:
ALDEN (Late 70s): A soft-spoken, kind-hearted man burdened by the quiet weight of grief and fading memory. Once lively and attentive, Alden now drifts through a house frozen in time, clinging to daily rituals that tether him to a love that lingers long after its loss. His movements are deliberate, but increasingly hesitant as his world blurs around him.
EVELYN (Late 70s): A memory more than a person. Evelyn is warm, witty, and comforting—a soft presence that gradually becomes haunting. She hums lullabies and speaks in crosswords, always slightly out of reach. May appear only as a voice or silhouette, so performance relies heavily on vocal tone and presence. Looking for someone with a warm, maternal tone and the ability to shift into something subtly unsettling.
