Logline: One wants a clean bathroom. One wants coffee. Neither of them expect to find their shared past serving the brews.
Page Count: 9
Genre: Comedy
Casting Breakdown:
LIAM (Mid 20s): Level-headed, mature, and emotionally composed, Liam is the dependable one in his friendship with James. A bit of a hopeless romantic with a soft spot for nostalgia and tradition, Liam tends to internalize his feelings. Though he’s moved on from a past relationship with Mia, unresolved emotions linger. He prefers structure and avoids chaos, though he inevitably gets pulled into it.
JAMES (Mid 20s): Charismatic, immature, and full of chaotic energy, James is Liam’s best friend and the human equivalent of a walking mess. Never one to pass up a joke — especially a bad one — he thrives on improvisation and confrontation. Though, underneath the sarcasm and self-deprecation lies someone deeply insecure and emotionally repressed.
MIA (Mid 20s): Witty, emotionally guarded, and fiercely independent, Mia works at Lovely’s Coffee Shop where her past and present collide. She was once romantically involved with both Liam and James. Mia’s sharp tongue and deadpan delivery hide a vulnerable heart still recovering from old wounds. Though she’s often the smartest person in the room, her impulsivity sometimes undermines her.
CUSTOMER (Mid 60s): An unfortunate coffee shop patron who gets caught in the verbal crossfire. Only wants peace and a latte.
