Ayande (43): suffering from stage 3 dementia, alternates between being lucid (clear mental state) and moderate memory loss, has a more realistic outlook on the clinical trial’s success rate

Waitress (26): chipper, just doing her job, unaware of the gravity of the conversation happening at the table she is waiting on
