Hello! I am Alexis Ribakoff and I am a senior Integrated Educational Studies Major and a Language and Literacy Minor here at Chapman University. This is my online portfolio that will showcase my journey through the IES program during my time at Chapman. I am originally from Los Angeles, California, and went to a small private school my whole life prior to coming to Chapman. I came to Chapman as an Integrated Educational Studies Major and have not looked back since. From the very first class I had within the Attallah College of Education, I knew I had made the right decision. I knew I wanted to work with children since I was a freshman in high school I just did not know specifically what I wanted to do in the field of education. When I came to Chapman and learned about the MACI program and the opportunities it provided future teachers, I realized that teaching might be something I want to pursue. I want to pursue teaching because I want to make a difference in students’ lives by providing the kind of safe and inclusive learning environment that I did not have during my elementary school years. After I graduate from undergrad, I plan to continue my education here at Chapman University in the MACI program where I will receive my M.A in Curriculum and Instruction and dual credential in general and special education in one accelerated year. I have learned so much during my time in the IES program and I am excited to showcase this growth through this portfolio. I am proud of all I have accomplished during my time at Chapman and I can see that I have not only grown as a scholar and future educator but as a well-rounded person as well. I can not wait to see what the future holds for me in the world of education.
