Josh\u2019s successful parents want him to go to college, but Josh is committed to his passion, stand-up comedy. Josh wants to skip college and pursue a career in comedy after high school. One night after performing, Josh gets noticed by a successful comedian, LARRY OSWALD (30\u2019s), who offers him a spot in a comedy competition. Unfortunately, the competition is being held the night before the ACT, and Josh\u2019s parents forbid him from going. Josh practices for the competition in secret, then sneaks out and competes. Josh makes it to the competition\u2019s final round, but he fails his ACT. Josh then bombs during the final round of the competition and is forced to make a last desperate attempt to get into college. Josh abandons his dream of being a comedian and puts all his energy into applying to college. In the process, Josh ruins his friendship with his best friend DRAKE (18). Josh\u2019s parents pull some strings and get him accepted into Stanford. They throw him a graduation party, and at the party, Josh has a mental breakdown and abruptly leaves. Josh performs stand-up comedy at a club in front of his parents.
