Synopsis<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

As the only child of an old immigrant family, Maria Quintanilla\nwants to reach for the future her parents carved for her, but\nfears it will put even more of a strain on her family who already\ndeals with medical expenses, and upkeep of the family bodega. As\nshe struggles with her admission decision, Maria discovers a new\nworld in the freezer of her family\u2019s bodega. Becoming acquainted\nwith the new world, \u2018Querencia\u2019, and even making a new friend,\nshe finds herself able to escape the obligations she holds in her\nreal world.\n<\/pre>\n
However, new problems begin to arise in Querencia with Maria\u2019s\narrival. Offering her aid, these problems are solved and she\nfinds herself finding more refuge in Querencia than intended. As\nshe travels between worlds, the pressure from her parents grows\nand she creeps closer and closer to her admissions deadline;\nstill unable to decide.\n<\/pre>\n
Things in Querencia begin to take a turn for the worse, prompting\nMaria to venture back into Querencia to find a way to put an end\nto it. Upon doing so, she is faced with the ultimate decision\u2014to\nchoose Querencia or her future. Still unable to decide, she has a\nheart to heart with her mother who reassures her that she can\nhandle whatever may come her way.
