{"id":109,"date":"2025-04-01T12:11:46","date_gmt":"2025-04-01T19:11:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.chapman.edu\/qrstemeducationconference\/?page_id=5"},"modified":"2026-02-09T17:06:28","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T17:06:28","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.chapman.edu\/qrstemeducationconference\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Advancing Research on Quantitative Reasoning (QR) in STEM Education<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are excited to announce an\u00a0<strong>interdisciplinary conference for researchers working on quantitative reasoning (QR) in STEM education<\/strong> that will be hosted at Chapman University in Orange, California on <strong>January 15 and 16, 2026<\/strong>. The two-day conference is intended to draw researchers working across both K-12 and higher education, and across the STEM disciplines. Our conference has the following objectives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide a forum for sharing research about the teaching and learning of QR in STEM<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate conversations between different STEM education research disciplines<\/li>\n<li>Synthesize current research on QR in STEM, exploring key themes across STEM education disciplines<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities for future research and collaboration among different STEM education research disciplines related to QR<\/li>\n<li>Generate a meeting report or white paper that summarizes the state of research on QR in STEM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Registration will be capped at 150 participants to ensure that the conference facilitates meaningful conversations with researchers across disciplines. In addition, the conference will be held immediately prior to the<a href=\"https:\/\/saberbio.wildapricot.org\/SABER-West\"> Society for Advancement of Biology Education Research (SABER) West regional conference<\/a>, which will be held January 17-18, 2026 at the University of California, Irvine (a short 15-minute drive from Chapman University).
