The program, called <em>Inspiring Biology<\/em>, included visits by biologists <a href=\"https:\/\/mistypaigtran.jimdo.com\">Misty Paig-Tran<\/a> (Cal State Fullerton), <a href=\"http:\/\/faculty.sites.uci.edu\/loudonlab\/\">Kate Loudon<\/a> (UC Irvine), and <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/eng.ucsd.edu\/bioinspired\/\">Mike Tolley<\/a> (UC San Diego). The students learned about a variety of topics including\u00a0hagfish slime, filter feeding in sharks and rays, bed bug biomechanics, and the engineering of soft robots.<\/p>\n<p><a
