Courses taught by Dr. Hsu include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Biology 101: Introduction to the biology major and professional development for the major<\/li>\n<li>Biology 123: Beyond\u00a0<em>Jurassic World<\/em>: The Science of DNA and Dinosaurs (non-majors class fulfilling natural sciences general education requirement)<\/li>\n<li>Biology 205: Evolution and Diversity of Multicellular Organisms (general biology II; covers ecology, evolution, and plant biology)<\/li>\n<li>Biology 208 (cross-listed as Biochemistry 208): Molecular Genetics<\/li>\n<li>Biology 208L (cross-listed as Biochemistry 208L): Molecular Genetics Laboratory<\/li>\n<li>Biology 369: Evolution: From DNA to Dinosaurs<\/li>\n<li>Biology 498: Capstone course for senior biology students; past topics include the evolution and genetics of monarch butterfly migration; epigenetics and gene regulation in sticklebacks; and the biology of SARS-CoV-2<\/li>\n<li>Environmental Science 499 (Evolution and ecology of the Gal\u00e1pagos)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, other members of the lab are involved in formal and informal teaching as well. For instance, Dr. Forsythe teaches within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/about\/our-home\/keck-center\/gci\/index.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" style=\"color:dodgerblue\">Grand Challenges Initiative sequence for STEM majors<\/a>, and Noelle serves as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chapman.edu\/students\/academic-resources\/tutoring-center\/tutoring\/supplemental-instruction.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" style=\"color:dodgerblue\">supplemental instructor<\/a> for introductory biology courses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are committed to inclusive, evidence-based teaching.
