I have a doctoral degree from UC Berkeley&#8217;s English Department and, in addition to my twenty-one years teaching at Chapman, I have taught at universities in Europe and Latin America.<\/p>\n<p>I have published eight books of poems and twenty-five essays on poetry and I have a social practice centering poetry therapy. At the center of my work is love for poetry&#8217;s therapeutic force.
